Entry from: Santiago, Chile Entry Title: "Santiago" Entry: "After our first experience of Santiago, we decided to make this round a bit better, so we did some research and ended up deciding upon 'Barrio Bellavista', the suburb of Santiago renowned for its restaurant and bar scene! We arrived at our hostel of choice, Dominica Hostel, expecting a party, and instead found a group of 18 year old American Spanish students...funnnnnnn! However a few hours later we had formed a little possie consisting of a Canadian (who worked at the hostel bar), a bloke from NZ (who is travelling around South and Central America building mountain bike tracks), Enda (the Irish guy who we stayed with in Pucon) and an American guy (one of the Spanish students). We went to a pub called The Dublin located in a really cool square called 'Patio Bellavista' and then went to a local bar for our first (and last) taste of the local Santiago cocktail, A pint of white wine with a shot of pisco, a dash of grenadine and vanilla ice cream! This what you like, we all finished them! By now it was late night on a Wednesday and in Santiago this is the night of 'Miercoles Po' which translates roughly to Wensday YAY! and is a Gringo Party held every Wednesday at a different location. Our week was held on the 6th floor of a multi story ...
